Curtis Secures Dismissal of $2 Billion Claims for the Republic of Uganda in UNCITRAL Arbitration

The Firm is pleased to announce that the tribunal in a London-seated UNCITRAL arbitration in the matter of KU Railways Holdings Limited and RVR Investments (PTY) Limited v. Republic of Kenya and Republic of Uganda issued an award on July 22, 2025, dismissing all claims brought by the claimants and awarding to the Republic of Uganda the totality of its costs.

Curtis Chairman George Kahale, III, Partner Irene Petrelli, Counsel Valerio Salvatori and Associates Francesco Sorace and Miriam Zari represented the Republic of Uganda in this case.
