Jonathan Walsh, Elisa Botero and Vadim Belinskiy Publish Article in Law360 on Meta’s EU Data Privacy Transfer Fine

Partners Jonathan Walsh and Elisa Botero along with associate Vadim Belinskiy published a new article entitled, “Record-Breaking Sanctions Against Meta Are Cautionary Tale for Global Cos. Transferring EU Data to the U.S.,” in Law360. The article addresses the European Union’s (EU) record-breaking privacy sanctions imposed on Meta Platforms for violation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when making transfers to the U.S. of personal data relating to individuals in the EU/European Economic Area (“EEA”), and the implications of these sanctions for other companies engaged in similar cross-Atlantic data transfers.
