Michael McMillen Moderates Seminar on Islamic Finance, Sponsored by the World Bank and IFSB

New York partner Michael McMillen served as the moderator of the World Bank-Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) High-Level Seminar on Islamic Finance and the Sustainable Development Goals. The session was held on October 6, 2016, on the evening before and as part of the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C.

Mr. McMillen moderated a panel discussing how Islamic finance systems can encourage infrastructure investment and improve the implementation of sustainable development goals and socially responsible investing. The panel included Dr. Walid Abdelwahab of the Islamic Development Bank; Mr. Cyrus Ardalan, a director of the International Finance Facility for Immunization; Mr. Osman Celik, Undersecretary of Finance of Turkey; Dato Mohd Izani Ghani, Chief Financial Officer of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia; and His Excellency Dr. Muliaman Hadad, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia
