Jean-Norbert Pontier gives sophisticated legal advice on domestic and international structured asset and project finance, private debt, investment funds, derivatives and equity solutions and alternative fund financing solutions. He divides his time between the firm’s Paris and Geneva offices.
Mr. Pontier’s focus on global international asset finance has included working with a variety of project finance (infrastructure, mining, energy) conventionally funded and using capital markets funding, and equity solutions. Extending his focus to structured trade finance, he has also worked in structured commodity finance, export and agency finance, trade credit, pre-export finance, and Islamic finance for commercial real estate and infrastructure deals.
He is also recognized for his pro bono work on impact financing (social impact bonds (SIBs)/development impact bonds (DIBs)). He represents arrangers for social financing solutions and is a member of the French Trésor commission on SIBs.
Mr. Pontier is recognized as a leader in his field by international and French legal publications such as Décideurs, which in 2020 named him as one of France’s most highly regarded lawyers in the banking and finance sector.
