Jorge Juan

Juan Jorge is a member of the International Arbitration Group. His practice focuses on investment and international commercial arbitration.

Mr. Jorge represents sovereign states, state entities and private enterprises in a wide spectrum of arbitration proceedings conducted under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). His practice spans across diverse economic sectors, including construction, transportation, and energy. Mr. Jorge also has experience in the enforcement of arbitration awards.

In the academic field, Mr. Jorge serves as a lecturer at the University of Buenos Aires Law School, where he teaches Private International Law, Commercial Arbitration, and Investment Arbitration. Additionally, he is a guest lecturer in Special Didactics at the same institution. Since 2019, Mr. Jorge also coaches and coordinates teams from the University of Buenos Aires Law School in moot competitions related to investment and international commercial arbitration.

Moreover, Mr. Jorge has been coordinator of the course entitled “Investment Arbitration: Historical Discussions and Current Trends” at the University of Mendoza Law School, as well as co-organizer, coordinator, and featured speaker in academic events dedicated to Private International Law, Commercial Arbitration, and Investment Arbitration. Mr. Jorge has also authored numerous publications on these topics.

Between 2020 and 2022, Mr. Jorge was a founding member of the executive committee of Argentina Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (AVYAP). This association was established to foster initiatives pertaining to arbitration, with a particular emphasis on nurturing the development of students and emerging professionals in the Argentine legal community.

Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Jorge garnered valuable experience at a prominent law firm in Argentina.
