Juan Jorge is a member of the International Arbitration Group in Washington, D.C. His practice focuses on investment and international commercial arbitration.
Mr. Jorge regularly advises and represents sovereign states, State entities, and private companies in high-stakes international disputes. He has participated in proceedings under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). His experience spans a broad range of sectors and subject matters, from construction, transportation, and energy to disputes involving assets of historical and cultural heritage. In 2024, Mr. Jorge was recognized as a “stand-out” arbitration practitioner by The Legal 500 Latin America 2025.
Before joining Curtis in 2020, Mr. Jorge worked at a leading law firm in Argentina, focusing on complex litigation and arbitration proceedings across Latin America.
Mr. Jorge holds a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires Law School, where he graduated cum laude, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Harvard Law School. At Harvard, he served as Vice President of the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association (HIALSA), Editor-in-Chief of the HIALSA Arbitration Review, and Outreach Chair of the Harvard International Law Journal. He also completed postgraduate programs in international arbitration offered by the Université de Genève and American University.
Since 2018, Mr. Jorge has taught Private International Law and International Arbitration at the University of Buenos Aires Law School, where he also served as a guest lecturer in the teaching certificate program and coached moot court teams in international arbitration competitions. In 2022, he coordinated the course “Investment Arbitration: Historical Debates and Current Trends” at the University of Mendoza Law School.
Between 2020 and 2022, Mr. Jorge was a founding member of the Executive Committee of Argentina Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (AVYAP), an association created to promote arbitration initiatives and support students and young professionals in Argentina.
