Anna Kozmenko served as an arbitrator at the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition, held in Vienna from April 15th to the 21st. Willem C. Vis was a world-recognized expert in international commercial transactions and dispute settlement procedures. The purpose of the Moot Court competition named for him is to encourage study in the field of international arbitration and promote the resolution of disputes by arbitration. This year 262 teams from 66 countries participated in the Moot, attracting more than 1500 participants to Vienna. This year's problem required participants to arbitrate under the Rules of the Chamber of Arbitration of Milan. The winning team was from the University of Ottawa.
The Moot is organized by the Association for the Organization and Promotion of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Institutional members include Pace University, Queen Mary (University of London), Stockholm University, University of Vienna, Austrian Arbitration Association, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Moot Alumni Association, and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (the Secretary of UNCITRAL is a member ex officio).
Anna Kozmenko is an associate in the International Arbitration Group at Curtis, where her practice focuses on international law and dispute resolution. Her experience includes arbitrations under the rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).
