Curtis Attorneys Participate in ASIL's 2026 Annual Meeting

The American Society of International Law convened its 120th Annual Meeting with the theme, “Advancing and Defending The Rule of Law”, which took place in Washington, D.C., April, 2026. Curtis was once again proudly represented by participating attorneys.

Washington, D.C. Managing Partner Claudia Frutos-Peterson spoke on a panel titled "States as Defendants: Sovereign Immunities and the Global Rule of Law", her intervention concerned a discussion on state’s immunities for enforcement in Latin America and the role of customary international law in the formation of enforcement immunities principles.

Counsel Odysseas Stergianopoulos and Associate Anna Ricci were part of the 2026 Annual Meeting Committee and managed various sessions, facilitating discussions with the involvement of environmental practitioners, arbitrators, and officials from international institutions, including the UN, ICJ and World Bank. They also delivered mentoring sessions for young professionals at the conference.

Associate Marija Ozolins moderated a panel entitled “From State Secrets to Interstate Negotiations: Legal Privilege under International Law”.
