Alexandra Maier and Thomas Laurer Promoted to Counsel

December 8, New York, NY — International law firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has promoted Dr. Alexandra Maier and Thomas Laurer to Counsel. Both attorneys are based in the firm's New York and Frankfurt offices.

Dr. Maier practices in Curtis' International Arbitration group. She has worked on a variety of cross-border cases before international tribunals and federal court proceedings representing large U.S., European and Latin American corporate clients. Her experience also encompasses general corporate and commercial matters, including working with the firm's Frankfurt office; litigation, including the representation of clients in post-transaction disputes; and bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

Dr. Maier is admitted to the U.S. District Court in both the Southern and Eastern districts of New York.

Mr. Laurer is a member of Curtis' Investment Management group. He focuses his practice on all legal aspects of professional investment management, with a particular focus on international settings. Mr. Laurer has extensive experience in screening, structuring and forming private investment funds in the United States, Europe and all major international financial offshore centers. He regularly advises clients on their investment activities and fund-raising efforts in the United States and around the world.

Mr. Laurer's practice also includes the reorganization and restructuring of collective investment vehicles as well as strategic investments in the investment management area. Mr. Laurer's clients include international financial institutions, independent investment managers, wealthy individuals and their family offices, and sovereign wealth funds.
