Curtis is representing Paul Appleton and Paul Cooper of David Rubin & Partners in their capacities as Joint Administrators of The Crowdmix Group. Licensed Insolvency Practitioners, Appleton and Cooper were appointed to facilitate the sale, wind-down or liquidation of five entities comprising the Crowdmix Group, by Appointments of Administrators in the UK High Court of Justice, Chancery Division, Companies Court between July 11 and 13, 2016.
Crowdmix was a music and sports social networking platform developer, which was in the process of launching a mobile application when its venture capital funding ran out. Certain Crowdmix assets were sold to a strategic buyer (which was also a pre-Administration secured lender) in August 2016.
Curtis is advising the Joint Administrators during the course of their duties to manage the affairs, business and property of the Crowdmix Group. Namely, Curtis has provided counsel related to strategic options for the sale of a U.S. subsidiary of Crowdmix, and issues of U.S. law related to a former U.S. office in Los Angeles and certain employment agreements.
