Four Curtis Attorneys participate in Bloomberg BNA Seminar

New York partners William Bricker Jr., Klas Holm, counsel Olga Beloded, and Frankfurt-based partner Christian Fingerhut spoke at a Bloomberg BNA seminar entitled “U.S. Tax Issues for Foreign Persons Investing in U.S. Real Property- FIRPTA, PATH Act, and More.” The event took place from November 30 - December 1 at the AMA Conference Center in New York.

Mr. Bricker served as chair of the event and spoke about recent PATH Act changes, FIRPTA reporting, and other reporting issues. Mr. Holm discussed foreign pension plans and related tax withholding information. Mr. Fingerhut presented case studies concerning respective U.S. and German tax issues involving several kinds of German parties investing in US real property. Ms. Beloded spoke about public and private real estate investment trusts and associated tax withholdings.

The seminar was attended by attorneys, accountants and other financial professionals from the United States and Canada.
