John Nielsen Rejoins Curtis as Corporate Partner

Curtis is pleased to welcome John Nielsen as a Corporate partner in the firm’s New York office. Mr. Nielsen returns to Curtis after serving as General Counsel and Secretary for two institutional broker-dealers, most recently Hunt Financial Securities.

Mr. Nielsen began his legal career in 1998 as an associate in the Corporate department at Curtis, departing as counsel in 2011 to take the position of General Counsel and Secretary for CRT Capital Group, a private-equity owned broker-dealer. He has wide-ranging domestic and international corporate experience with a particular focus on securities law compliance and oversight, private-equity led financing transactions, debt offerings, employment and labor matters, and mergers and acquisitions.

"We are excited that one of our well-regarded alumni has returned to Curtis,” said Matias Vega, Managing Partner at Curtis. “John’s broad corporate background and in-house experience, especially with broker-dealers and financial institutions, will add to our robust corporate practice.”

Mr. Nielsen earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. in Economics from University of Maryland. He is admitted to practice in New York.
