Sara Lucía Dangón-Novoa is an associate in the litigation and international arbitration practice areas.
Sara Lucía Dangón-Novoa is a foreign litigation associate in the New York office with experience in international economic law and arbitration. Prior to joining the New York office, she was part of Curtis’s Bogotá office, where she represented Latin American states in investment arbitration disputes.
Ms. Dangón-Novoa’s professional background includes serving as an advisor in the International Legal Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism of the Republic of Colombia. In this role, she drafted pleadings, oral statements, and third-party interventions for proceedings before the World Trade Organization and the Andean Community dispute settlement mechanisms.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Dangón-Novoa has contributed to academia as an International Economic Law Professor at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She also authored the case for the 19th Edition of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition and has both coached and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
Ms. Dangón-Novoa holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where she served as Vice President of the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association (HIALSA). She also possesses a law degree and an LL.M. in Public International Law, cum laude, from Universidad de los Andes, and has undertaken studies at The Hague Academy of International Law and the World Trade Institute.
