Fromont Charlotte

Charlotte Fromont is an associate in the International Arbitration group and works from the Paris office.

Ms. Fromont’s practice focuses on representing states and state-owned entities in complex investor-state arbitrations, international commercial arbitrations and public international law matters. Her area of focus includes investment law and public international law, including treaty law, the law of international organizations, and European law.

Ms. Fromont has been involved in proceedings conducted under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Court of Arbitration (ICC), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).

Ms Fromont possesses experience in a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, mining and project development. Ms. Fromont is currently representing private and sovereign clients in Africa, Europe and Central Asia in arbitrations arising under investment treaties and cross-border contracts.

At Curtis, Ms. Fromont has also been involved on a number of international restructurings, international contract negotiations and multi-jurisdictional proceedings. Ms. Fromont has advised, on a pro bono basis, NGOs and social impact investment companies in the structuring of innovative financial mechanisms such as impact contracts (social impact bonds (SIBs)/development impact bonds (DIBs)).

Since 2019, Ms. Fromont has lectured at the Advanced Program in Investment Arbitration (APIA) of the Paris Bar School (EFB).

Prior to joining Curtis, Ms. Fromont trained in international law firms and organizations in the Hague, London and Paris. Ms. Fromont previously provided pro bono assistance in international humanitarian law, international criminal law, human rights and French immigration law.
