Frankfurt, July 21, 2011 - Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has announced that Georg C. Melzer has joined the firm as Counsel in its Corporate practice. He will be based in Frankfurt.
Mr. Melzer brings 15 years of professional experience to Curtis, most recently with DZ BANK AG, Germany's 4th largest bank in terms of assets, where he held an in-house position as Director. He also has experience as a lawyer at Thum & Cie, a corporate boutique firm. Both positions were in Frankfurt.
Mr. Melzer specializes in labor/employment law, including disputes in German labor courts, and has extensive experience in advising on corporate governance and equity capital markets matters, such as IPOs, capital increases and public takeovers as well as supervisory/executive board issues.
'Georg Melzer will be a huge asset to the Firm and the Curtis team in Germany,” said Marc V. Kramer, managing partner of the Curtis Frankfurt office. “His addition will boost considerably both our employment and corporate practices, and his move here is a key part of our plan for Curtis to expand in Frankfurt.”
Mr. Melzer is the author of various business law-related publications and a member of the supervisory boards of Deufol AG and of a privately held family trust. He earned his degree in Jurisprudence at the University of Konstanz Faculty of Law.
