Curtis hosts events for Paris Arbitration Week 2025

Paris Arbitration week (PAW) was a dynamic one for Curtis, featuring multiple hosted events, airing the Paris podcast episode, and earning a repeat recognition from GAR as one of the top 20 global firms for international arbitration.

Firstly, Curtis attorneys Marie-Claire Argac, Lise Johnson and Fuad Zarbiyev hosted and participated in a panel titled "Affaires d’États Vol. 4: Little Used and Unduly Maligned: The Story of the Joint Interpretive Statement". The panel, also including speakers Julian Arato and Juan Pablo Gómez, unpacked the critiques that have been levelled at joint interpretive statements, and explored both the practical barriers impeding more widespread use of these tools by States and possible ways of overcoming those barriers.

A second webinar moderated by and featured Curtis attorneys Claudia Frutos-Peterson and Gaia Morelli addressed the topic “Navigating Privilege Challenges in International Arbitration”. The discussion, including speakers Joe Neuhaus and Mariana Lozza, explored the landscape of legal privilege across jurisdictions, addressing the contrasts between common law and civil law approaches, and the particular challenges faced by States and in-house counsel.

Lastly, the Paris office hosted visiting Curtis attorneys from other international offices during the week, including: Geoffroy Lyonnet, Lisa Arpin-Pont, Sebastiano Nessi, Marie-Claire Argac, Fernando Tupa, Yelena Stasyk, Charlotte Fromont, Irene Petrelli, Anna Kozmenko, Maria Eugenia Piacquadio, Peter Wolrich, Claudia Frutos-Peterson, Daniela Della Rosa and Patrice Courtier.
