Andrija Durovic is an experienced tax attorney with extensive experience in tax, tax controversy, and corporate matters. Mr. Durovic is a trusted by clients in the real estate, retail, agriculture, energy and IT industries on a range of tax and corporate issues.
Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Durovic has seven years of experience in Serbia representing companies on international tax matters, including the taxation of cross-border sale of shares, investment units, royalty payments, real estate, interests, and dividends. He has advised clients on tax planning of mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs as well as initiated statutory procedures, obtaining official opinions of the Serbian Ministry of Finance concerning delicate international tax law matters.On the tax controversy side, Mr. Durovic has appeared before the Serbian tax authorities, drafted submissions, and legal remedies in many tax audits regarding Serbian corporate and personal income tax, as well as VAT, property tax and asset transfer tax.Mr. Durovic’s sectoral experience in M&A and corporate includes oil & gas, airline, foods, and energy.
