Pro Bono

Pro Bono

At Curtis, we like to deploy our efforts as strategically and for the maximum benefit to as many clients as possible. This means:

Targeting Our Efforts

For many of our pro bono engagements we draw upon long-standing affiliations with a number of volunteer-driven legal services organizations, including Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Human Rights First, Sanctuary for Families, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A and the Legal Aid Society.

Care and Oversight

Pro bono work is an integral part of the practice of law at Curtis, and is organized and overseen in the same way and to the same standards as any other client matter. Every pro bono engagement is supervised by a partner. Associates receive billable hour credits for time spent on pro bono representations and so the firm fosters and supports the efforts of its lawyers. Where attorneys hold a particular cause close to their heart, we endeavor to support them in pursuing it.
