Eric Stenshoel Speaks at 2016 Spring Meeting of the International Section of the American Bar Association in New York

New York-based Counsel Eric Stenshoel spoke at the 2016 Spring Meeting of the International Section of the American Bar Association on April 15 as part of a panel entitled “What Does IP Have to Do with Investor State Arbitration?” The panel explored the use of investor instigated arbitration under existing free trade agreements to challenge legislation and administrative and court decisions affecting intellectual property policies, such as Australia’s Tobacco Plain Packaging Act and Canada’s judicial test of utility for patents, and considered the implications of IP-related provisions in free trade agreements currently under consideration, such as the TPP.
