Marc Hammerson Co-Authors Chapter on Oil & Gas Decommissioning in "Oil and Gas Contracts: Principles and Practice"

London partner Marc Hammerson has co-authored a chapter on oil and gas decommissioning in the third edition of Oil and Gas Contracts: Principles and Practice (published by Sweet & Maxwell), a leading industry textbook.

Entitled Decommissioning and included under Part 3 — Project Management, Marc's chapter explains international principles relating to decommissioning offshore infrastructure, international law governing this activity and techniques used by governments to regulate international oil companies. It further explains how IOCs secure and allocate future liabilities by using joint operating agreements and decommissioning security agreements.
