Michael S. Schwartz Appointed as an Officer of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association

On December 6, 2019, Private Client and Trusts and Estates Partner Michael S. Schwartz was appointed as an Officer of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association, with the appointment becoming official at the Trusts and Estates Section’s Annual Meeting on January 29, 2020. In that role, Michael will serve as Treasurer of the Trusts and Estates Section in 2020, as Secretary in 2021, as Vice-Chair in 2022, and then Chair of the Trusts and Estates Section in 2023. Michael is currently serving as the First District Representative of the Trusts and Estates Section, and previously served as Vice-Chair and then Chair of the Estate and Trust Administration Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section.

The Trusts and Estates Section of the NYSBA plays an active role in the New York trusts and estates community. Through his involvement, Mr. Schwartz has been an integral part of committees which have proposed new legislation or commented on proposed legislation in New York, including major proposals to adopt a modified version of the Uniform Trust Code.
