Curtis Promotes Olga Beloded to Counsel in Tax Group in New York

New York, January 25, 2012 - Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has announced that Olga R. Beloded has been promoted to counsel in its Tax group. She is based in the international law firm's New York office.

Ms. Beloded counsels clients on tax aspects of domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, including taxable and tax-free acquisitions and dispositions, leveraged buyouts, S corporation tax issues and real estate investment trusts. She also advises domestic and foreign multinationals on international tax issues in cross-border transactions and internal tax planning matters, including issues relating to foreign tax credits, subpart F, passive foreign investment company rules and foreign investment in U.S. real property.

Ms. Beloded represents clients in tax controversy matters during all phases of IRS audits and appeals, including matters involving the tax treatment of corporate distributions, bad debt deductions, worthless stock deductions, and business valuations.

Olga received her J.D. at the University of Chicago, where she also earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics. She graduated from Kiev National University in the Ukraine with both an M.A. and a B.A. She was a George Soros Scholar at Oxford University.
