On Tuesday, March 22nd, partner Javier Hernandez will speak on a Practising Law Institute (PLI) CLE program entitled “ERISA Plan Investments in Financial Markets 2022: The Fundamentals”. This course will provide an in-depth look at the nuts and bolts of various financial instruments and investment vehicles and the ERISA issues that arise in connection with them. Panelists will also explore the interaction between ERISA and how financial products and markets actually work.
In a session entitled "ERISA Enacted in 1974 – The Initial Transition to the New Rules and Application to the Financial Community", Javier and four other speakers will discuss ERISA’s prohibited transaction and fiduciary rules, ERISA’s impact on financial markets after enactment, key class exemptions issued by DOL addressing market impact, fiduciary rule origins, ESG evolution, and fiduciary liability developments. This session will take place at 9:15 AM EDT.
