Simon Batifort and Andrew Larkin Speak at the 7th Global Conference of the Society of International Economic Law

Partner Simon Batifort and Associate Andrew Larkin will present their forthcoming article, “The Meaning of Silence in Investment Treaties,” at the Seventh Biennial Global Conference of the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL), which will be held virtually from July 7-9 in collaboration with Bocconi University in Milan. Mr. Batifort and Mr. Larkin’s presentation will focus on various approaches that arbitral tribunals have adopted in interpreting areas of silence in investment treaties on a broad range of issues, whether those approaches are consistent with principles of public international law, and the potential impact of current efforts to reform the investment treaty regime.
