Ron Xie, a Beijing-based partner in the International Trade group, advises clients in dispute settlement, mergers and acquisitions, trade, competition law and regulatory matters. His practice includes litigation and arbitration in trade and business disputes involving breaches of contract, investor and shareholder claims, customs issues, infrastructure and real estate financing, business fraud, intellectual property disputes and enforcement, loans, and guarantees.
Mr. Xie’s clients are primarily Fortune 500 companies operating both in and out of China, including leading technology firms, start-ups and private clients, across a broad spectrum of sectors including technology, global shipping and insurance, agriculture, investment banking, oil and gas, precious metals, nuclear, manufacturing, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, and private equity.
Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Xie had experience working in private practice, serving as senior corporate counsel, and acting as legal advisor to the Chinese government. Most recently, he served as a senior partner in a respected Chinese law firm. He previously founded and acted as managing partner of another reputable Chinese law firm. Prior to that, he served as General Manager, Assistant General Counsel and head of litigation, antitrust and policies at a leading global technology and software company, where he was responsible for the Greater China Region. Mr. Xie also worked at China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) for a total of six years.
Mr. Xie was admitted to practice in 1988. In 1994, he obtained his J.D. from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. He completed undergraduate and postgraduate legal studies at the University of International Business & Economics (UIBE) in Beijing.
