Dr. Borzu Sabahi to Speak at ICSID-ADGM Joint Conference: Investment Protection and Armed Conflict

Washington, D.C. Partner Dr. Borzu Sabahi will speak at the second edition of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Abu Dhabi Global Market’s (ADGM) joint conference focusing on investment protection and armed conflict in Abu Dhabi on May 10.

Dr. Sabahi will be participating on a panel entitled, “State Defenses to Investment Claims in Armed Conflict Contexts.” The discussion will focus on some of the defenses that States may raise in armed conflict situations, including treaty provisions, and principles such as supervening impossibility of performance and fundamental change of circumstances, necessity and force majeure, attribution issues and contributory negligence.
