Partner Simon Batifort will participate in a virtual roundtable discussion of the Eco Oro v. Colombia investment arbitration decision organized by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 9am ET / 3pm CET.
Mr. Batifort and his co-panelists will discuss how the case was decided and its implications for investment treaty negotiations and reforms. The session will also explore how the decision may impact “old-style treaties,” model treaties and their recent updates, as well as how it may play a role going forward in shaping states’ defense strategies in investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS) cases.
