Henry Matthew

Matthew Henry is a litigation associate based in New York. He has broad experience in cross-border litigation and focuses his practice on international arbitration, international and transnational litigation, commercial disputes, intellectual property litigation, international trade, and national security law.

An experienced litigator, Mr. Henry has nearly ten years of experience in both civil and criminal matters. As a former government trial attorney, he has first chair jury experience as both a military prosecutor and military public defender for felony cases. In his private practice, Mr. Henry has represented corporate clients with intellectual property disputes and clients in the fashion and luxury industry. During his government service, Mr. Henry represented clients working in the space industry and has engaged in thought leadership regarding the space economy.

Mr. Henry clerked for the Honorable Claire R. Kelly, a judge on the U.S. Court of International Trade who sat by designation on the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District of Florida, the Northern District of Oklahoma, and the District of Idaho. In addition, he clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney in California.

During law school, Mr. Henry completed externships with the New York International Arbitration Center working on the Case Law on UNCITRAL Texts (CLOUT) project and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Distinguished Government Service

From 2017 to 2022, Mr. Henry served as an active-duty judge advocate (JAG) in the U.S. Air Force in Japan and in the United States as a prosecutor and then as a defense counsel.

In his current part-time military reserve duty, Mr. Henry is a Major in the New York Air National Guard, where he advises senior leaders and provides legal counsel to servicemembers on personal and employment matters.
