What is the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC)?

The Arbitration Institute of the SCC is one of the leading independent commercial dispute resolution bodies in the world. The Arbitration Institute is part of, but independent from, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Internationally recognized as an impartial and independent arbitral institution, the Arbitration Institute is listed as the dispute resolution body in over 120 bilateral investment treaties. The Arbitration Institute of the SCC consists of a Board and a Secretariat and provides efficient dispute resolution services for both Swedish and international parties.

Disputes are governed by customizable SCC arbitration rules and SCC law that has been developed over the last 100 years. The SCC rules cover a range of topics including: commencement of proceedings, composition of the arbitration tribunal, proceedings before the tribunal, and awards and decisions.
