Litigation in the Omani Courts
Simon Ward is one of Oman’s leading litigators and advocates, known for his commercial acumen. He is also managing partner of the firm’s Muscat office. His litigation experience spans a wide range of fields, including commercial, construction, engineering, regulatory, health and safety, environment, and employment, both in Oman and overseas.
As an advocate, Mr. Ward has appeared before both the Omani courts and arbitral tribunals. He has acted as arbitrator and lead counsel before the Omani courts and in domestic and international arbitrations, including under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Commercial Arbitration
His arbitration experience encompasses most major institutions including ICC, LCIA, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), American Arbitration Association (AAA), Gulf Cooperation Council Commercial Arbitration Centre (GCCAC) and ad hoc arbitration, litigation and dispute resolution. He has substantial experience in Omani and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) ad hoc arbitrations, as well as in general dispute resolution before Omani Courts. He was appointed to the Oman Court of Appeal Roll of Arbitrators in 2011 and is registered as an arbitrator with the DIFC/LCIA.
Mr. Ward has been recognized by Chambers in International Arbitration in Oman for nearly a decade, in which he is currently ranked in Band 1, and by Legal 500 for his Dispute Resolution capabilities in Oman since 2020. He was also selected for inclusion in The Legal 500’s annual Arbitration Powerlist - Middle East.

Given his deep knowledge of Omani law and procedure, Mr. Ward is often instructed to advise on a broad range of issues within the Omani jurisdication.
